Vivian Li visits Helsinki for the first time

I knew Helsinki long time before starting my job at the Finnish Embassy in Beijing eight years ago.

Coffee was the first smell to meet me in Helsinki. It reaches me from every corner, due to the hundreds of cafés in the city.

In the market place, I found a huge range of fresh fruit and vegetables supplied directly from local farms. I would like to go beyond the city centre, into the forest. It would be fun to be a berry picker during the summer.

I feel that Helsinki is very close to my heart, because I have many lovely friends and colleagues here, both Finnish and Chinese. They are all wonderful people. Here, I never feel lonely.
